First App run
Begin with account and model configuration in the App. Connect a CLI when local agent, provider, or remote-computer control is required. The App and CLI provide two entry points for the same workflow.
The App is currently in internal beta, with features and platform support opening and evolving progressively during testing. Follow the release notes for the applicable build.
Path one: use the App independently
- Open the App.
- Sign in to an OriginRouter account, or continue signed out on supported local surfaces.
- Open Chat and select a model available to the account.
- Configure language, theme, notifications, and personal memory under Account or Settings.
This path does not require the CLI. Provider Control and Agent Control request a device connection when required.
Path two: connect the current computer
Complete the installation and local runtime setup from CLI overview and install in a terminal on the current computer:
originrouter status
Return to the desktop App and open Provider Control. The App first tries 127.0.0.1:7437. A successful connection shows the CLI version, device name, and local connection state.
Path three: connect a remote computer from a phone
- Complete the installation and
originrouter setupfrom CLI overview and install on the target computer, then runoriginrouter login. - Confirm that
originrouter service statusreports a running service. For separate service administration, see Service and daemon. - In App Provider Control, enable the models to share; turn on “Remote allowed” only when other trusted devices must use them.
- Complete
originrouter remote setupfrom the target device's management context. - Sign in to the same account in the App, confirm device trust, and select the target under Devices or Provider Control.
Continue with Connect the CLI.
